Water got in tower.

Dog freaked out at some sound, got my headset cable around her somehow and knocked over a cup of water, some of it got into my tower. It turns on but nothing shows up on monitor. Anyone know what could be the issue (obviously water is) but like what I should do.

Firstly, make sure there is no water left in the case. I think it must have hit your GPU. Try another one if you can.

1. Make sure your case is COMPLETELY dry.
2. Don't put your drink where a spill could conceivably get into your tower.
3. Remove your GPU.
4. Plug your monitor into the video ports on your MOBO's I/O panel.
5. Turn on and see if anything displays.

Assuming that you get display and everything is working properly, your GPU got fried. You should be happy that you didn't suffer worse damage. If nothing displays still, get another GPU and try it out. If still nothing, then you're probably boned.

Mobo doesn't have a video port.

However I pulled the GPU out last night and let it sit overnight, tried it again it in the morning and it worked. Needless to say no more water near computer from now on. Thanks for the help though guys.
