I mean like if you have other metals in your loop other than copper like aluminum or something like that. cause mixing metals will create a residue that gets stuck and built up on your water block heat fins and slowly cuts off the flow till one day you notice the water boiling in your loop from heat build up.

ok the water boiling may be a little dramatic but it will stop the flow and bring your temps up dramatically.
I have a EK block on my gpu and I love it keeps it nice and cool. as for what one to get as long as you have all copper in your water loop than I would go for the copper block because it has better cooling ability. If you dont have just copper in your water loop than go for the nickel plated cause otherwise you will create deposits in your cpu and gpu block fins.
 


I'm a little confused about "don't have just copper" would you be a little more specific please
