So long story short. I'm in between houses, so I have no internet. I have my work phone with unlimited data for tethering. unfortunately its a windows phone so doesn't have the ability to use USB tether. I also have my android phone. a BT Homehub 5 and no wifi dongle as I think it got packed into storage I do have some power-line adaptors as well one has the WiFi capability.

Is there any way I can connect my PC to the internet with what I have. I'm going all MacGyver here in desperation.(Idealy I dont want to use the data from the Android phone) I no it would be simpler to just get a WiFi dongle but its only for 20 days till I go back to virgin 200Mb so any ideas or suggestions guys would be great.

cheers

Well, you have no WiFi, you have no Bluetooth, and USB doesn't have support on the phone. There is no way you can get this to work without another device to convert between those and your PC, or another protocol your PC and phone both support. You certainly won't be macgyvering a WiFi radio out of copper wool and phone line, and the same goes for a USB

That device could be another computer with WiFi, or *maybe* a rooted android phone, if you want to spend a week messing around with the kernel and network stack. I have barely any idea where to start there, and guarantee it will involve many new dents in your walls.

You could also try to use the BT Homehub or the powerline adapters in WiFi Client mode, but I've found that to be...

Never needed a Bluetooth adapter its a custom built gaming rig so its always been Ethernet connected direct to the router.

Nope SIMs are locked to their respective phones.

I think you have missed the point. I don't want to have to buy more kit for a temporary task. where is the fun in that? you don't gain any knowledge or experience . It's just lazy.

This may work, but this post implies the feature has been removed.
