WD 2TB Passport

HI, My 2TB WD Passport (External Hard-disk ) got repair. HOw do i recover data from that one? but its detecting when i click the drive, its showing I/O error. can anyone help me, it very urgent? And also i could not format because all my confidential data are in it.

I/O error.

The internal bridge board from the Sata interface of the drive in the external enclosure has failed.

Sata to usb bridge board.

If you have a tower based system not a laptop.
you can open the external enclosure case of the WD drive remove the bridge board and connect the physical hard drive to a tower based system with standard Sata data connector and the power for it from the pc PSU.

You can then access the data on the drive.
