Okay so after building and helping out numerous friends with their rigs, I just built my first rig & i am very very proud of it!

Here's a list of what I currently have set up.

Corsair Obsidian 750D
Asus Rog Maximus Vi Formula
Corsair Vengeance Pro 8gb 2133Mhz
Corsair H100i
Intel 4770k
Corsair Rm850
Samsung 840 EVO 120GB
Sapphire Radeon R9 270X TOXIC
Western Digital 1TB Hard drive

Let me put this out there, I am not an expert nor do i claim to be one, i know my basics and i can put things together. I knew I'd have issues getting this rig all set up SO my fellow pc enthusiasts, i need your help. My Os and the majority of my drivers are installed on my ssd. Pc boots up and shuts down within 10 seconds no problem. When i plugged in my 1tb hard drive when i was putting the whole computer together, the bios didn't seem to detect it for some reason. I enabled all of the sata ports. Still no luck. I also checked from the ROG EZ mode- It still didn't show up. I plugged the hard drive sata into the optical drive sata port( Since it was working ) & still no luck.

Now reading online, a lot of people are saying to go format the hd & if it still does't work- It might be a dud. 🙁

Halp pls.

Ran across this thread because I'm having the same problem with a brand new WD 1TB drive. Disk Management in Windows needs to initialize it before you can format it. Also, good idea to do a full format on a new drive so that it gets checked for errors.
