WD Black Label Damaged

Hello,

I recently damaged the big white label on my WD Black trying to put it into my Lenovo T420s (the old drive is slim, while the new one isnt). I understand the warranty is void now, but my question is if the label carries any meaningful function i.e. is the drive still useful?

First, I doubt that you voided the warranty, unless you intentionally tried to remove the label. The label has no functionality other than to ID the drive, and, perhaps, provide some technical info.
