I have recently purchased the WD Black m.2 NVME SSD 250GB.
After installing the m.2 ssd, I noticed that several of my sata ports were "disabled" and several ssd/hdd were unable to be recognized.
Having multiple tries of relocating the sata cables/ports around the different storage, the m.2 ssd still could not be found/detected.
I eventually managed to get all of the ssd/hdd to be found and connected again, but still the m.2 ssd did not show up on windows 10 or in the bios.
I have read around upgrading the bios should make it appear, but i did not have any luck.

I looked around and all over the place, but did not see anything related to pcie or wd 250

The only time i saw the wd 250 was when I was going to exit the bios and can see under boot override WDS250G.

I already have a SSD for OS purposes. I am trying to set up the m.2 to copy the existing boot ssd over.

M.2 SSD is WD Black NVME 250GB
Motherboard is : MSI z97s SLI Krait edition.

Absolutely, I was looking at the User Manual for the MB when I posted my comment, and oddly enough it doesn't state the Gen 2 issue at all in the manual, then after seeing yoru comment went back to see it's only mentioned on the overall specs / data sheet! 👍
