One of my hdds went raw a few months ago.A few days back i managed to borrow an equally big drive to restore my files and after i was done i tried to format the drive. However i am getting errors when i try to initialize it in the disk management.First i got the error
" Can't initialize because of I/O device error"
After looking around and not finding a solution i decided to replace the sata cable just in case and now i am getting "Cyclic Redundency Check Error"
Moreover the drive does not appear on DISKPART nor has a letter assigned in disk management. Finally i run a quick Error Scan with HD tune and although i interrupted because it was taking forever it found a few bad sectors at the start of the drive, nothing for the rest of it (scaned about 1/3)
I tried to scan with WD data lifeguard but the quick scan hangs at about 80% through.
Finally when i was done with recovering the filed i had tried to do a zero fill in HD tune but it was taking forever and canceled,no idea if that's relevant.
HD sentinel gives the drive 5% health
Disk health according to HD tune
