WD Elements Portable 2TB or WD My Passport Ultra 2TB?

Are these both using same hard disk? Only difference is that My Passport has software in it? Both have been released this year?

I would use the hard drive as a storage so Elements Portable sound better, but I've read that there are some problems with that drive and sometimes computers or TV's don't recognize it. Prices are £80 for Elements Portable and £90 for My Passport Ultra.

It's only 1.5TB. 2TB is minimum that I will buy.

my understanding is that with the new drives the only difference is formatting. Elementsis fat32 and passport is ntfs.
