WD Green 2 TB Write Speed Problem

I have WD Green WD20EARX 2TB 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5". Write works normal at 40 MB/s via USB. Only 8 MB/s Write via SATA. HDD works very slow. I change cable and i have the same problem.

Benchmark with brand new HDD 4 years ago:

Read: 86.52 MB/s
Write: 72.76 MB/s

Bad HDD or what?

Hey Sandi.

Sorry to hear about the problems you're having with your drive. :\

Having in mind you're getting better readings while you have the drive connected externally might mean that the SATA port and/or cables might be at fault. Give it a go with a different SATA port and cables if possible, or even better - with a different computer, to see if the same thing happens.
It is advisable that you backup your data first, though.
After that go ahead and test the drive by running both DLG (Data Lifeguard) tests (Quick and Extended), to see if anything alarming pops-up: How to test a drive for problems using Data Lifeguard Diagnostics for Windows Once this is done, if there's nothing out of the ordinary, you could follow @SkyNetRising's advice and double-check the drive with a 3rd party tool as well, if you want to.

This HDD is too slow for 2 TB. I have 1 TB Green and 1 TB Blue and write is over 100 MB/s both.

Looks pretty normal.
CRC errors point to possibly bad sata cable. Change it.

Benchmarks also look fine. Lower sequental scores are possibly due to high disk fragmentation.

As already mentioned - backup your data as a precaution and try the drive with a different port and cables. Also run DLG's tests to see what happens: How to test a drive for problems using Data Lifeguard Diagnostics for Windows

If everything looks fine with the drive after the Quick and Extended tests, I'd advise you to run chkdsk and see if that fixes things up. Here's how to do it:
Open CMD as administrator
Type chkdsk X: /r /f (note that you should change "X" with the appropriate letter that corresponds to that of the drive in question).
