[SOLVED] WD Green M.2 not showing

Bought a 240GB M.2 SSD (2280) for my Asus Z97A Usb3.1 motherboard. It did not show in the Bios or Disk Management. I have tried:
Updating Bios
Reseating
Changing Bios setting to M.2 mode
Updating drivers

I assumed the product was DOA as it did not show up in another computer either (that pc had a M.2 in the slot which worked fine)
The 2nd m.2 arrived and doesn't show up either, any ideas?

Nope. pcie type. your m.2 is sata type

That one will, but WHY?
That WD Green is a regular SATA SSD. And among SATA III drives, it is a poor performer.

Send it back, and get a regular 2.5" SATA III drive. Native connectivity to the motherboard SATA ports.

Send it back, and get a regular 2.5" SATA III drive. Native connectivity to the motherboard SATA ports.

Reason for buying M.2 rather than ssd is simply space in case (got several hdds and ssds in already), the M.2 was only £30 for 240gb too (and i thought it would be easier to install). Atleast now I will have 2 PCIe M.2 Slots for the future (1 mobo, 1 on that new card).

In addition to above, was same cost as 2.5" variant and I'm only putting games on it, not after faster than standard SSD speeds.

That particular SATA III is slower than standard SSD speed. That's why it was only £30.
