[SOLVED] WD My Cloud

Is their away to repurpose my cloud 6TB WD Red NAS hard Drive and use it as a standard hard drive? The drive has been removed from the Cloud enclouser and the networking boards have been removed.

See if it has standard SATA data and power connectors (many are USB only, therefore unsuitable for internal use), and if 'normal', hook it up, and see if it is recognized within the BIOS listing....; if it's there, then see if it shows up and can be formatted in admin tools/computer management/ storage/disk mngmt

Yes standard SATA, 4 jumper spots, no power connector.
When I use a USB / SATA connector nothing happens, it is not seen under Windos 10.

What do you mean? Standard SATA has two connectors, the smaller one for data, the larger for power.

My mistake, yes it’s a standard SATA.
I don’t see a option for pictures.

You must connect both the data and power connectors for the PC to recognize the HDD.

That cable cannot run a 3.5" HDD.
The 3.5" HDD needs both 12v and 5v power.
The USB port this cable connects to can only provide the 5v.

That drive will never run with that cable.

You need a dock with actual wall power.
