WD my passport ultra edition_incorrect password error message

Dear Sirs,
I have a WD My passport Ultra edition 1 TB and it is showing incorrect password message despite several attempts with the correct password. I can't imagine formatting the drive as I have a lot of data and do not have back up.
Wlould you please kindly suggest me how to access my drive?
