Beginning to run slow usually is caused by infection of system.

Have you checked for virus / malware infections ? Be advised running a single AV scan and coming up clean does not mean you are not infected !

thanks I will do a scan. one thing I have noticed is the 2.6gig memory is down to 256 mb of memory. so I thought it was a bad HDD, my friend says it was running without virus detection for a long time. thanks agin
