Question Weak FPS on WoW

Guys I have a decent rig, 11600k running at 4.8, evga 3070 slight OC, 16gb 3200mhz ram and a good m.2 ssd. I'm running a 1440p monitor on ultra settings and my fps in major cities is 60-70 fps. Whats perplexing is I'm only using 4% of the cpu and 40% of the gpu and 78% of the ram total. I'm lost here, any advice? Thanks as always.

WoW is poorly threaded, and highly CPU dependent. Only a faster cpu, with more IPC, will net you any gains. Major cities will always tank your FPS, vs being out in the world.

Yeah I see that lol. In dungeons, and raids I get 125+ no problem, it's just the major current city that's hitting me hard. Blows my mind the cpu or gpu aren't even breaking a sweat though, bummer lol. Wonder how the 5800X3D would cope or even be worth it. Just built my wife a 5600 rig same gpu but better ram and she is getting better fps than me. I wanted to give intel another shot last year, should have stayed with ryzen, been on their ban wagon since the 1600.

I have a 12700k, with a 3070ti, and an R7 5800x with an RX 6800. Sitting in Valdrakken, just outside the inn, my Intel rig is does 60-70fps. The AMD rig is roughly the same.

feels bad, guess I will just cope lol, at least I'm above 60fps LOL. thanks for the help guys, feel better at least.
