Question Web sites loading multiple pages at once ?

While looking at the https://www.army-technology.com site I discovered it loads up to 16 copies of the same page. When I used the Back One Page button I saw the page didn't change. Holding down the back button showed the large number of pages the were loaded. When I clicked on the page at the bottom of the list nothing apparently changed.
I've seen this behaviour on other sites as well. Why for is this done? It's a royal pain in sitter if you want to go back a page.

I'm a Firefox user and it doesn't happen to me, not even with that army website. Suggest you scan your system for malware as that's a possible cause.
