HI all

I am new here, hoping you guys can help

My internet has been playing up recently, Some websites don't load or some load without all content, such as a cached version of the site.

So ive researched around and read many people have had similar problems and ive tried the following to resolve it:

flushed DNS
Cleared browser history
Tried different browsers
Tried to use OpenDNS and the google one
Connecting via cable to the router

But still hasnt solved the problem.

Could someone help and tell me what else I can do to solve the problem please?

Thanks in advance

Whole new area for me. See

You could try tracert on 4.2.2.2 to see if you have a problem between laptop and router
Compare your results with a known good connection (Mine)

Okay so I spoke to provider and after telling them I was running Win 8.1 they suggested I disable Ivp6 connection in the adapter settings. I done this and so far it has been working fine *touch wood*!

But im confused because with it enabled the laptop worked fine on other internet connections

dodger46 - just tried the two tests you mentioned:

Tracert came back with number 6 with request timed out and the list only went to 7

ping test received 20 and lost 0 so that seemed fine

Think you meant you disabled TCP/IPv6, can't imagine what that had to do with it, but one for the record books in case it crops up again!
v6 has been developed for the time when v4 addresses run short early in the 21st century, v4 uses 32 bit which can be used to generate 4 billion nodes,(individual ip addresses) whereas v6 uses 128 bit which should last a bit longer than the 20 odd years of v4.
