Weird glitchy internet connection. Help!

I have always thought my internet speed is slow. When ever I download something I get around 1mbs. Then my friend introduced me to speed test.

It said
ping- 13ms
Download- 227.40 mbps
Upload- 6.68 mbps
What is going on? My computer is getting over 200 but its only using 1mbps?!!!!!!!
I am using an Ethernet cord that I bought recently.
