I recently decided to upgrade my current computer. Before buying new parts, I had an amd a8 5600k cpu and a gigabyte r9 270x graphics card. I bought an x4 860k to replace my a8 and to my surprise find out that my motherboard didnt support the cpu. And so i bought a new one that was fm2+ specifically the f2a68hm-h. After putting all the parts together, I would turn on my computer and my gpu wouldnt start up. The fans would move very slightly every second and make a little noise. Everything else turns on just fine. My psu is a corsair 600 modular. What is going on? I made sure the ram was secure in the motherboard and checked all my plugs.

PS: When switching back to the amd a8, my gpu works again. What's going on?

.

I certainly hope that's the situation. Thanks for your input

Hold on a second.. How would the 860k be too much for the mobo? Because I'm currently using the a68 with my old cpu and my graphics card works fine

Oh sorry, I tought F2A68HM-H was a CPU... somehow... well, what I'm doing?

Ok, so maybe the f2a68hm-h can't handle the 860K, that was what I tried to say...
But, well, it doesn't makes sense ur mobo can handle an APU but not an ordinary CPU, ur right!

What exactly happens when u turn the PC on? I mean, black screen, bips, nothing?

Check ur plugs again, the GPU PCI-e connectors, the CPU 4-pin (or maybe 6-pin) conector, if the RAM is in the right slots (I mean, u know, that 1/3/2/4 scheme), etc...

When i turn on my computer, there is no display, my gpu fans dont move and everything else turns on. I checked my plugs twice already.
