Weird graphical/game-play bugs (Skyrim)

I decided to hop on an play some Skyrim after being away from it for five months, and noticed something very, very strange. When my character turns a certain way, his staff disappears. On-top of that, there is an annoying, pulsating green-hue in the "Start" menu, as well as a bow that will NOT fully render.

I am using the hard copy, not the STEAM-downloaded version.

Any suggestions? It used to work fine before.

I am guessing a bit but the latest patch is known to cause some issues.
