weird graphics in some games

i got an old computer from a friend and didnt want it anymore but it had vista so installed xp and wanted to play old games but some games have graphic issues things spas out or i dont know ill put up a video on what its doing cause its hard to explain. but i have dx9 installed and the latest drivers i could get. like nfs3hp software render works fine but change it to graphics end it goes crazy.

Ahh the good old NFS3...


What you're experiencing is called artifacts, since you're having that with hardware rendering on several games it means your video card is faulty, it could simply be an overheating issue so check its temp just in case, other possibilities could be some driver issue or needing to reseat the video card (not properly placed).

cant really reseat it cause its the built-in nvidia card i can try heat or drivers(reinstall windows)

It might also be worth giving the unofficial "Need For Speed III Modern Patch" a try, just in case it were some incompatibility with the newer hardware or drivers. NFS3 came out years before even DirectX 9 was released, after all. Were any other specific games having problems?

Frogger has same kind of issue but somewhat fixed with lowering the resolution other than that this game is my big one but sadly the modern update wouldn't even work even though I did stuff correctly
