I don't think that it's a virus, i never install stuff from weird/sketchy websites. What could it be? It's weird and sometimes while playing games it's annoying

Solution
This is what you want to do:

1. When the windows flashes, immediatly look at your clock and note the time.
2. Open Task scheduler.
3. Expand Windows, the click on each item. -> look at the "Last Run Time"

If you find the one that matches your time, you probably have the culprit. Look at the other Tasks in the Schedular library if you cant find the one with the same time of the last run.

Hope this helps.

Hi

The same has been happening to me. I think I found the problem:

Check your Task Scheduler -> Microsoft -> Windows Error Reporting
Try disable the task: QueueReporting

I am almost 99% sure this is the problem.

Wow thanks!

I'm still having this issue even after disabling QueueReporting. It started about two days ago but I can't find much information on it. Both Malwarebytes and Windows Defender have detected no threats on my system, and nothing out of the ordinary shows up in Task Manager or Task Scheduler. Though it is ultimately not a huge problem, it still periodically shows up and leaves me worried about what's going on in my computer.

I find it interesting that this thread was created about the same time that my problem began; I would assume it has to be a Windows issue, then.

Solution

I disabled the QueueReporting and it didn't pop up for like 1 day, then today it starts again and QueueReporting is off as well.

To many this window is caused by the OfficeBackgroundTaskHandlerRegistration scheduled task in the Office scheduled tasks. Before actually disabling it, you could first try changing the User to System. Do this in the following way:

1. Click on the scheduled task OfficeBackgroundTaskHandlerRegistration
2. Click on properties in the right Actions window
3. Click on "Change User or Group, and type in SYSTEM

This may do the trick and not stop the actual task for important updates.
