Weird Premiere Bug ?

I'm trying to render an MPEG2 file from Premiere Pro that's
approximately 75 minutes long.

And yet every time the filesize of the M2V hits 2.00GB exactly,
Premiere crashes out. I've changed bitrates and stuff like that, but
it still crashes out at exactly 2.00GB. Anyone have any ideas ?

Using XP with NTFS, so it should definitely not be a filesystem limit.

Isn't 2Gb a limitation of the standard .avi format though? I know
you're talking about an m2v, but I've seen several systems that render
these out as .avi and you then need to change the extension to m2v...

2gig is not a limit of avi - I've had avi files that were over 60 gigs.
Check the timeline on which your rendering - is it stopping at a point on
the timeline where a cut occurs? If so, check the properties of that avi
file. It could be a problem of different types of avi's, and premiere
doesn't anticipate the change

If there is a way to set your export preferences to "Type 1 AVI", do so.

With my canopus avi file version utility, I can choose to export one type of
avi that will stop converting at 2GB. (There's like 5 different settings to
choose from.) Also, the capture function with my canopus (dvstorm) card also
stops at a 2GB limit. So my workaround is that I capture into avi type 1 and
convert to canopus avi II and theres no file size limit. But whats with this
2GB limit? I don't think its a problem with items on a timeline.

You should do some research on the opendml standard. If I remember you
need to be working in opendml format to handle avi files over 2GB.
