I am having some issues with my comp, every hour at 7 mins after, my net disconnects me, I have done a virus scan and its some type of timer that was installed, it was fine when I went to bed at 1:30 AM but this morning it started doing it, this isn't the first time, but this is a clean install of win7, if you need my comp specs just ask me, anyone have any ideas of what it can be or whats doing it?, also I don't have many progs installed atm, I have 6 other comps online and they do not disconnect from the net

Download the program http://www.wireshark.org/ and use it on your network card. If you get disconnected, you'll see the packet information, it should give you more details on your problem. Be warned, this program will give you information on packets, networks so you gotta have a good background on networking...but taht wont stop you from saving the info it grabs and sending it here.

in other words, if a packet is responsible for your disconnection, you or someone here will probably see it.

Your computer was not able to renew its address from the network (from the DHCP Server) for the Network Card with network address 0x001FBC101482. The following error occurred: 0x79. Your computer will continue to try and obtain an address on its own from the network address (DHCP) server, that's in Event Viewer but it says 3:09 but also theres 4:09 and 5:09 so that has to be it just timed diff

Understood. I too (and many others) have been down that path as well. It is certainly not pleasant, but it may be the only way to root out the problem you are dealing with.

BTW. where did you get your Win 7 install media? Via an OEM/retail DVD or via a downloaded ISO? If an ISO, did you get from an official MS source?

Its on wired when it disconnects, I don't use wireless for my main computer

No I fixed it, I changed the expire lease time in the router and it stopped disconnecting me, in the router the expire time was every hour, so it was my ISP doing it, just only with my computer, I changed it to expire every 30 days
