Weird Smell Coming From PC

So I started smelling a TCP/Weird smell coming from my computer which got worse over a period of like 6 hours until eventually it switched off and would not power back on. After reading up on the forums I found that my PSU was the most likely cause so after removing It I looked it over and noticed it smelt of the same smell and the flooring it was sat on smelt the same too. There was also a yellow looking stain on the dust protector, the floor below the PSU and inside the old PSU on part of some clear plastic. I replaced the PSU and the next day and my PC powered on however the smell was still present. I am unsure if the smell just needs time to dissipate or where there is still a problem. My temperatures all seem fine so I am just wondering what else it could be or if I am just over thinking it. Thanks for your replies in advance.

It takes time for that smell to dissipate.
