Hello,

I already tried some other newsgroups, but no luck so far.
Sound on K7S5A Pro is distorted with onboard card with no regards to OS
( unfortunately, must say that problems are there only when I use OS
from Redmond - 98SE, Win2k, XP Pro ... ) and with disabled onboard card
and installed ESS1731 problems are identical ( in all MS systems again ).

After installing SuSE i was surprised: everything was OK !
Strange problem with my Matrox DualHead card also disappear. Then, I
have re-installed new AGP and IDE drivers ( have tried both from SiS and
ECS site ) and problem still persists.

Next step was to try some other systems.

Knoppix ........... everything OK
QNX ............... everything OK

Is there any solution for this problem in Windows ?

Thanks,

Michael

Try out different drivers, and don't be afraid to go directly to the
sound chip manufacturers web site to find drivers. I recall a k7s5a
board where I believe I finally had success using drivers direct from
cmedia (the problem was lack of sound with Windows media player and
playback of certain video formats).
