I recently bought a Gigabyte GS27QC monitor and noticed two weird things on it.

One is this weird erratic pattern visible on dark and uniform tones, like Google search page on dark mode. Wanted to know if it's defective of if it's just that the gray uniformity on this unity or maybe on this is model that is just not good.

Second thing are these lines that come up are aligned with the OSD sidekick when I bring it up. They're probably not meant to be there, but I don't know if it's harmless or could represent a deeper issue. I tried switching to another Display Port but that didn't help.

Thank you for any help you may offer.

Hey there,

The first issue is known as light bleed. A lot of monitors have this. It's not great, but is a known quantity. Higher end monitors with different panel types don't have this issue. Sadly for budget monitors, this is a thing.

I'm not really sure what you mean about the OSD. I don't see the issues as such. Can you explain in more detail?

Thank you for your answer. Unfortunately doesn't seem to be only be backlight bleed. With a black screen and no external light, there's little glow. Also, this weird pattern almost disappears in 60hz in contrast to when the monitors is at 165.

The OSD is making these blue lines coming out of the side of it to the left of the screen. I realised that it happens outside of the OSD as well. If there is a box on screen on a gray background, this lines scape to the sides.
