Western Digital Firmware

I am looking for a generic command line or GUI utility to update the firmware on a WD10EZEX (Western Digital Blue, 1 TB). Any tips, KB, or info on this? I found the firmware in the form of .rom and .rpm files as referenced in this T-H thread.

You may want to read through this thread. On another note, the question posed in the thread you've linked is a good question. Why would need to updated the firmware? Often times, it kills the drive. On another note, if you do manage to find a means to update the firmware, be sure to backup all the data on your 1TB drive since it's highly possible a botched update can turn your drive into an expensive paper weight.

Please backup your data before doing firmware update on a hard drive. Firmware updates on hard drives in some cases will blank the drive.
