I wanna buy a new 1 TB capacity, 64 MB Buffer, 7200 RPM HDD. I have to choose between a Seagate Desktop edition or a Western Digital Blue. WD Blue is 5 $ more.

Really not much difference in quality or performance between the two and they both have a 2 year warranty. i would just save the 5 bucks and get the Seagate.

I have SEAGATE ST1000DM003 1CH162-305 1 TB 3.5” SATA. Should I even change it? http://www.thepcsoftwareconnectionstorellc.com/seagate-st1000dm003-1ch162-305-1-tb-3-5-sata/
If the NAS-class is another 10-15 bux, I'd get that instead, 3 years warranty which tells me they are built sturdier.
