Western Digital Purple in a PC?

So all i am asking is can i use the new Western Digital Purple in a pc.
Also is it better than the Red?

If you are looking for a HDD to be used for simple storage go Blue, Green or Black
If you are looking for a HDD for advanced storage solutions i.e. NAS, go Red
The Purple as indicated is geared/designed for video surveillance and may not work properly in a regular desktop setup for general every day use.

Purple will work but its not ideal and the heavy random read/writes that windows pcs do may actually have a negative impact on the drive which is designed for heavy sequential reads & writes. (Ie - It may die an early death)

Is it all right to use a 2TB red? as the blacks seem to be more expensive.
And I'm not using a Green as they are for quiet builds and I don't care for the noise.

Sure but IMHO, I'd rather opt for the Greens as they are cheaper and I'd rather save the dough for a rainy day.
