Make sure if the motherboard has a RAID controller, that it is not active in BIOS if you only intend to run a single drive. If the controller is set to non raid Vista 32 should pick it up on install. If you do intend on using RAID then you need to go to the Motherboard suppliers website and download the RAID Driver.

what a silly comment....
of course there are drivers for the hard drive....
no matter what is controlling it, be it bios, controller chip, generic OS sata drivers etc etc......
software had to be written for it...... that is a driver

and even in my Windows 7 64 bit when I plug in this drive for the first time, it looks for and installs a driver for that particular hdd model.
