What 27" monitor to get

Hi, I have 1080ti and have 1080p@60Hz monitor so I would like buy new monitor. Should I look for 4k on 27"or get some with 2k? Also I would like to buy one with g-sync and preferably IPS panel.

I am looking these and cant decide wheter to go with 2k or 4k

Or should I buy some TN panel 27" 2k or 4k monitor? I read and saw on yt that these IPS monitors often have some backlight bleed problems.

I would rule out a 4K monitor. Even with a 1080 Ti which I have as well it will not run quite a few games at 60FPS unless quality is turned down. I would go with the Acer Predator over the ASUS ROG Swift. There have been lots of reports of quality issues with the ASUS monitors like backlight bleed.

Your GTX1080ti can run any resolution well.
Consider the 4k monitor.
More and more content is going 4k.
IPS will generally give a better picture image than tn.

And... attach your old 1080P to your GTX1080ti as a side monitor.
Put email or performance monitors on it.
There will be no impact on gaming

I'd buy the Acer Predator 1440p. Reviews out there say the ASUS has a little better color quality out of the box than the Acer (which can be fixed with calibration), but the Acer has less backlight bleeding issues that you cannot fix.

I dont know, reading and watching reviews and QA on acer predator xb271hu is also bad. Like it all depends how lucky you are. Also my cpu is 4770k so I dont know how would that go with 4k resolutions.

Your CPU doesn't care much to which resolution you run, that's all on your GPU.

Yeah what Kasper said. At 1440p and above, it's more on the GPU for most games. But not all. I notice an improvement in FPS with Project Cars, Grid Autosport, F1 2016, and DiRT Rally/DiRT 4 when I overclock my 4690K for example.

For pure gaming, I'd recommend the 1440p/144Hz IPS monitors.
4K is the future, but because of that reason, the 4K monitor market is still rapidly evolving.

That is the one I have, best purchase I have done in the past few years. IMO 1440p is the perfect resolution for 27" screens.

21:9 is more suitable for content creation, There are games that support that aspect ratio, but you would have to check before hand with the games you like.

Remember also the movies and videos are typically in a 16:9 aspect ratio, so you might have to view them with black bars on the sides.
