Question What am I doing wrong with with my water cooler connection?

I’ve connected the 9pin connector to the usb header on the motherboard but it’s not detecting the hardware. The rgb turns on and there seems to be activity but nothing indicates a proper connection. Is this connector suppose to go somewhere else I’m not aware of? The diagram says usb 3_4, but the header on the motherboard for usb 3 is not a 9 pin connector.

Yes. But it’s not detecting the cooler.
