What are good CPU idle temperatures?

I'm using a decent system and curious what are good ambient temperatures and if they are good is they any advantanges in that at all?

30C or below is usually considered good for idle temps.

My CPU 100% load using Prime95 are 30-40 degrees touching 44 max after running the test for 10 minutes.
Can I push my computer more to the limit in terms of possibly overclocking I know my CPU isn't designed for that but I know they is various amount of softwares what can do it for you.
