I have a Dell XPS8700 W10 that works fine for my streaming movies, playing WOW. I upgraded it's graphics card recently with a

ZER-LON GeForce GTX 1660 Super 6GB Graphics Cards, GDRR6 192Bit PCIE 3.0X16 Computer Gaming Gpu, Dual Freeze Fans Video Card with HDMI/DP/DVI Ports Support 4K and 8K HD

I use a 32" Samsung TV with a 1366 x 768 Native Resolution.

I spend a lot of time in front of this monitor at my desktop, and would really like to get the best resolution I can possibly get sub $1000. Is it possible; any suggestions?

GTX1660 isn't really fast enough to push the highest resolution displays.

For you a 32" 1440p monitor is probably about right for WoW, but more recent games you will have to compromise a lot.

You can certainly spend more if you want, but it would be a little wasteful.

Now if you spent say, $600 on something like an RTX4070 Super (depending on your systems specs), and a $400 monitor, might push for some extra features.

Perhaps this one as well:

Go ahead and buy the best monitor you can.
A monitor is a long term purchase.
Your budget is certainly sufficient.

What do you do most with your pc?
Unless it is fast action gaming, the performance of your gpu is not that important.
Do you want the TV functionality?

Your budget will allow you to buy a very good 4k monitor.
Perhaps 40" or so.
a larger/wider display is easier to see and games are more immersive.

It is best to see the candidates in person.
Otherwise, go to rtings.com for comparative reviews.
LG makes some nice units, look, for example at this one:

I'm seeing 60+ FPS at 1440p playing WoW at 'quality 10' settings

1080 maximum settings is about 100FPS for a 1660 Super.

At 4K, you might have to run medium settings to see decent performance, or run a lower resolution.
