what are the 8 pin on psu for?

I know that 4 pin is for cpu but what is 8 pin for?

There are sometimes 2 different 8 pins.

1 is for graphics card (6 or 8)
2 is for motherboard (4 or 8)

yes i mean the motherboard 8 pin. what is it for? the cpu only need a 4 pin

Some motherboards take 4 and some take 8. You will probably find that the 8 pin will split into 2 x 4pin.

Some motherboards use an 8pin for the CPU. Usually it's on motherboards where they anticipate people over clocking. It allows for more power to be delivered

oh thats why my psu have two 4 pins. but i only use one.
