Next year it comes out via Steam.

Nope. Purely online gaming goodness. I don't know of any MMORPG that has
that feature unless you count the old tutorial for EQ1.

I've never looked at it as I'm not into strategy and its ilk, however some
critiques I've read have been vague as to what else you can do with the
game. none of them specifically stated that it was not an offline SP game.
and I'm too lazy to play online games.

Yep. I really like it. A lot. I can't think of any game that has held my
attention this long. Not even EQ.

I know it's beat to death in certain circles, but in your opinion, what
makes WOW more fun than EQ2? I'm playing the latter some, although I've got
a weird relationship with the game: I love it sometimes and want to play it
every free minute, then I play a shooter one afternoon and don't go back to
EQ2 for 3 weeks . . . or more.

I've only played about an hour of EQ2 "Trial of the Isle" and since I
didn't know how to hook up with my friend who was also trying it at the
time got pretty frustrated with it and just uninstalled it. So I can't
really comment on EQ2 vs WoW.
