I am planning on buying the acer g247hyu 1440p 60hz monitor and overclocking it to around 75hz, is this a bad idea and is there a big risk of doing this?
Well its pushing your monitor to run faster than its supposed to, so one could assume that it could wear your monitor out prematurely. That being said I have my 60hz monitor running at 75hz without any issues, and ive heard of quite a lot of people doing it as well.

It's not even worth mentioning a decrease in lifespan or risks like ocing a cpu on stock vcore. There is no guarantee you'd hit even close to 75hz. Thinking that you already can is a bad idea.
