I've oced my i7700k to 4.7ghz at 1.280 voltage. I get idle temps of about 40 C and while playing they get up to 75 C, however when i did the prime95 full temp stress test i got up to 90 C. What can i do about it, or is it ok?

specs:
cpu: intel core i7700
cpu cooler: be quiet dark rock 3 pro
mobo: asrock extreme 4
gpu: msi gtx 1080 X 8gb
case: phanteks eclipse p400s

Solution
75 is good temp. 90 is too hot but prime 95 is the most severe stress test, normal usage will not put your cpu in that state. You are fine :) If worried, just keep monitoring temp while gaming :)

Use prime95 version 26.6. You are likely using the latest version with AVX instructions. An AVX load is absolutely unrealistic for the type of load you will see in a game and is in my opinion pointless for anyone trying to gauge stability and temps of their overclock for use in gaming.

Your options are:

1. Leave as is since 75c while gaming is still considered decent.
2. Get a better cooling solution (liquid cooling) to get slightly lower temperatures.
3. Move to a colder environment like Antarctica where the cold ambient temperature will provide even better cooling with your current setup.

I already moved to antarctica nd bought nitrogen cooling system. My temps are at -20 C all time. Thank you
