I know there is potential bottleneck in my build, a few fps is not a big problem to me, but I still feel like I didn't get the biggest bang for the buck. I need some pointer and/or expert opinion on this matter.

You can overclock the processor much further than the stock 4.0 ghz. The gtx 970 doesn't seem to be able to go much further than that on average, you might be able to squeeze a few more MHz on the core clock.
Ouch that is some increase in voltage for that card.

You are right in assuming the cpu is holding you back a little, overclocking the cpu helps this some but not a whole lot.

I had that same exact problem with my old 8350.

I cant stop thinking you can get more out of that card, or maybe mine was just extremely lucky with silicon lottery. See signature.

Mine is the msi gtx 970 golden edition and i was lucky with mine, 1500 core 4000 memory (custom bios modded)

What psu do you have?

Well I dunno , with a 8320@4.3ghz & a exoc 970 I've hit 62fps & scores of 1300+ on that bench- it is not massively CPU intensive in all honesty

That score does look a little low to me but it's an unreliable result - that low fps of 9 lowers the average score a lot & will be from a scene change.

Ignore benches is my advice - if you're happy with game performance forget about it.
