Question Connecting a ASUS ROG Flow X13 to a 10+ year old Sony tv.

I am am trying to stream this screen to this tv through a USB - HDMI cable and cannot get either to even acknowledge the connection. I have no idea what to do now.

why not using a simple HDMI to HDMI cable?

The tablet doesnt have a hdmi port, but it turns out that the cable I was using was a charging cable... didnt even know hdmi was used for charging. Ah well, new cable worked thats the main thing.
