Allright guys i need some info on the playability of games using this setup:
Intel Core Duo T2250, 1.73GHz, FSB-533MHz
1024 MB DDR2 667 MHz
80 GB Serial ATA 5400
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950
Has any of you had any expirience playing for example HeroesV on such a setup? What should i expect in some other popular games?

Don't do it!

Intel GPUs suck bad.

Even the worst nVidia or ATI card will perform and look much better.

Try to get a 7600GT or X1600 or better.

GL :-D

Pretty much all integrated chips suck big time.

Popular games will lag so bad, you'll put a hammer to the PC.

Sorry, you'll need at least a card linux suggested, 7600GT would be nice. But you're on a laptop (or it seems) so you can't really upgrade.

Intel GMA graphics are down right garbage. You won't be able to play any games on that machine at any decent settings.

For example.

P4 3ghz HT + Intel GMA 950
Need for Speed Underground 2.

At lowest settings at 640x480 it was playable. It looked horrible though.

Doom 3
Unplayable.

Those a few tests I did on this work Dell we use to see how bad these grahpics were. HORRIBLE.

If you are getting a laptop then you can put a lil mo' dough into the machine and get a 7800 or 7900 that will really scream in gaming.
Don't be dumb.

All sorts of integrated graphics are garbage (why they don't see to ever upgrade it I don't understand. When I was kid I had a crappy PC-Chips BXPro-II, with a SiS 6326, it ran the current games like NFS:HS and others in 640x480 at good fps).

Anuhow I know friends who play GTA Vice City and NFS:UG2 on intel GMA950 at 640x480, all effects off -- all that around 12-15 fps LOLz (most of them have crappy intel boards with no AGP/PCI-E slot so they are stuck). And the drivers aren't optimized for games so problems like crashing back to the desktop are quite common.

If you can afford it at LEAST nVidia 7600 class or equal from the competition.

EDIT: Both Intel/VIA/SiS. ATi/nVidia are somewhat better. Most people here buy systems w/ Intel boards (the cheapo ones which don't have AGP or PCI-E slot), (since they're the only ones which comes with 3-years replacement warr., all others including ASUS & MSI distributors only give 1 yr) for their kids and then come to pounce on our necks when most games they'd run would crash back to the desktop w/o any message.

Yeah, you can play MineSweeper and Solitaire with full details! might even run the Vista ones!

Joke aside as mentionned it's really meant for office/internet/basic 2d games.

The GMA900 in my laptop will run NFS:U at 1024, most of thing off at descent framerate with obvious slow down from time to time. But then again my laptop was not bought to play games! unless my classes are reaaaally boring and then I rely on Worms:Armageddon, pocket tanks and Snood =)
