Bought a new motherboard , connected everything
installed 0S .. only to discover the problem hasn't gone away .

PC just keeps rebooting after approx 5 mins

likely causes?

( psst its not the mobo ) :bounce:

very interesting GM
It turns out I do have a spare PSU

what I don't understand is why does the fail occur
at precisely the same time , all the time.

why not fail on bootup or another time ..
is this to do with holding a charger/voltage/power
and does windows have a failsafe to reboot should the power
alter .. where is this setting

I'll change over , but don't understand as can play with
DOS programs all day and no reboots

I've put on a thermaltake 630w
http://

a change from the 200w
http://

No help,
just getting to the point after Hi, Welcome to win8 or even win10
and just reboots, reboots , this happens every os and every time i try to install windows
after a while PC goes into recovery mode
but that's a false message as have just installed windows.

I'm thinking it can ONLY now be the HDD
however every deep test reveals no bad sectors.

am at a real loss as to know what to try next ..

Thanks that's inevitably what happens after many reboots
goes into system failure
then there is no end to the repair attempt
so I repartition and try again 🙁

crazy thing is i tried with a new HDD tonight, same problem
a new win install via USB tool creation media
just to remove my DVD of Win 8.1 and the DVD drive out of the mix

It just almost completing , finalising settings
then reboot, reboot -- recovery
and there's no fix I can find via reset/restore etc

just try reinstall again and again .maybe take a mem module out
swap a power supply .. hoping for a diff result :pfff:
something is up ..
