I've been experiencing the error that is stated in the title of this thread. We all come across such errors. But the problem is I'm getting this frequently. I'm going crazy at times when this happens in a crucial stage of the game. What might cause this error?

One thing (which I think might be the reason) is, I've got just a little space of 3-4 GB on the drive in which the games are installed.

SPECS:-

OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit.
Processor: Intel(R) Core 2 Duo CPU E7500 @2.93 GHz
RAM: 2 GB
Hard Disk: 500 GB (The drive which has the games is about 100 GB with a free space of 4 GB)
DirectX version: DirectX 11
Video Card: Nvidia Geforce GTX 750 1 GB
Games Played: Assassin's Creed 1, Splinter Cell Blacklist and Hitman Absolution. All the three crashes at least three or four times a day.

NOTE: All of the games mentioned above are able to run in full speed @ MAX settings in my system.

Solution
With your specs in mind, I'm guessing that the problem is with your limited RAM, which causes Windows to try and dump unused files into the pagefile on your HDD...but with the lack of HDD space, it hits the point where it can't expand the pagefile to fit any more data and thus, you crash out of the game.

If possible, you'd want to get an extra stick of 2GB of (what i assume is) DDR2 to make that 4GB, which is barely serviceable nowadays.
If your motherboard is in fact a newer model, you can hopefully replace the RAM with 2 sticks of 4GB DDR3, and that would make things much better.

An alternative (but worse performing) solution would be to get a new hard disk to dump your media files or whatever archives are taking up space onto.
This...
Does it only happen with a certain type of game? If yes right click on that game and troubleshoot compatibility issues, it may help fix that problem. Reinstalling the game could help

Also is your video drivers up to date?

It happens to all the three games that I have installed. Assasin's Creed 1, Splinter Cell Blacklist and Hitman Absolution. I have checked the requirements of these games and yes, they are compatible on Windows 7.

I have recently bought Geforce GTX 750. Haven't updated the drivers yet. You think it might be the reason for the issue ?

Post your system specs please, so we know what we're dealing with here.
By system specs, I mean your CPU, GPU, RAM and Storage.

All the games you've listed play perfectly on Windows 7 and Windows 8 in my experience, so I'm guessing it's more of a local hardware problem that you have.

Hi @alexandergc,
Thanks for reminding me about the system specs. I have updated my thread!

This will free up your system disk and allow the pagefile to grow as necessary, but will still be less than optimal IMHO.

At the very least, it should solve your crashing issues, so there's that :\
