Current setup :

i5-12600K
EVGA 3060TI FTW
Gigabyte Z-690 ddr4
Thermal take 240mm AIO cooler
Corsair Dominator DDR4 2x16

What part(s) should be prioritized to upgrade here? Also, are there any implications with upgrading to 4 sticks of ddr4?

Kind regards,

Just in a quick look, you could have a more powerful graphics card paired with the 12600K. If you are playing at 1080, I wouldn't change a thing. If you scaled up to 1440 then it would make sense to have a more powerful graphics option for more frames or more eye candy...but, the thing is, on paper the hardware as is makes a lot of sense both from a performance standpoint and value.

But really, getting down to the bones of it, the above post is spot on.

What limitations are you running into now? What do you expect from an upgrade? Are you upgrading just to upgrade? What is your budget? What is your current PSU?
Thanks for the reply!

I really don't get too much lag at any point, but some frame drop when multi tasking ( streaming on discord while watching a video). I also just want to upgrade to upgrade to be honest. Budget isnt an issue if the value to dollar is there. In addition, I do want some parts that look better ( 4 sticks of ram vs 2) things like that.

PSU: 800W Gold

I dont know any 800W good models. they are typically 750 or 850W.

you could do a bios update and get a 14700k.

if the PSU is good, a GPU upgrade to something like a 4070 super that is launching end of Jan '24. or you might have some good clearance sale on the vanilla 4070.

or just drop a 7900xtx or 4080 super if the budget permits and play at 4k 12600k should support well for now

I really have a bee in my bonnet about the 14th gen it feels like a rip off ..

maybe 13600k but more so 32gb of ram and a higher end GPU !!
