Hey there,

Full specs of PC, exact models of ram, mobo, GPU PSU, case, fans.

Do you play FPS games. What in games settings are you expecting?

You need to provide more info!
mobo :b550
cpu :unknown
2x16 ddr4 cl16 3600 g-skill
be quite 750w 80+
case still unkown

I'm expexting 150+ FPS on high settings in cyber , overwatch , hunt, scum etc.

GoldGlitch Hello. I'm seeking clarification on your question: Do you currently have an existing build that has a B550 chipset motherboard and AM4 socket CPU? Or are you in the midst of purchasing parts for that build? If you already have an existing B550 motherboard and CPU, could you please find out which CPU that is? An easy method to figure this out is to load task manager -> more settings -> performance -> cpu: The full CPU manufacturer and model should be listed in the upper right.

Another question: What recently changed in your system, that you're looking for a new CPU. Was the AMD RX 6700 XT newly acquired? If so, which GPU (or component) did you upgrade from? Without knowing any of the information above, my knee-jerk response would be for you to buy a Ryzen 5 5600, which normally sells for $129.99 USD. If you're located in the US, you may want to consider waiting for Amazon's "Prime Day" sales this July 11th and 12th. Although the Ryzen 5 5600 is already pretty cheap at $130. But I'd be very interested to know what your current CPU is, and the answers to the other questions, because perhaps a further upgrade is unnecessary.

To pair it with the best CPU, you should consider options that offer strong single-threaded performance and can handle the GPU's capabilities. Some recommended CPUs for the RX 6700 XT include the AMD Ryzen 5 5600X or the Intel Core i5-11600K.

rx 6700 xt is designed (made) for 1080p gaming?
Well, all video cards are designed to handle 1080p gaming, it's just that the higher-end cards can handle more than that. The RX 6700 XT at 1080p would give very high framerates. We're talking 100-300FPS depending on the game and the graphics settings used.

The thing is, because 1080p tends to be such a light load on the GPU, the CPU becomes the bottleneck because it isn't aided by lower resolution nor is it hindered by higher resolution. Therefore, when you drop the resolution, the GPU doesn't slow down the process anymore and any limitations of the CPU are exposed.

but can i handle a 2k ?

It seems that I was a bit conservative in my performance estimates for the RX 6700 XT. TechPowerUp did a 22-game test suite at 1080p, 1440p and 2160p at ultra settings. The RX 6700 XT just blew through the 1080p and 1440p tests and even averaged almost 70FPS at 2160p! I knew that it was a great card, I just didn't realise that it was THIS great.
Here's 1080p:

Here's 1440p:

and 2160p:

For a card that's selling for only $310 with 12GB of VRAM to put up numbers like this over 22 games at ultra settings is pretty amazing. I'd say that it's definitely the card to get if your budget is above $300 and below $500.
