So I will be upgrading my CPU soon, and I am not sure on whether I should upgrade to the Ryzen 5 1600 or the Intel Core i7-4690k. I know that my MOBO does not support these CPU's meaning I will also need to upgrade that aswell as RAM. I am a casual gamer, and I don't know which one of these CPU's will suit me more. I primarily playing PUBG and Forza Horizon 3. I would also be very thankful if you can create a build with the i7-4690k as I already have a Ryzen build created.

This is the Ryzen build - https://pcpartpicker.com/list/x7wy7h. Advice on it would also be very appreciated.

I have a ATX case, and my PSU is the Corsair VS550W. I know the PSU isn't the best but it hasn't caused me many problems and the budget I have doesn't allow for another PSU.

Advice would be greatly appreciated, many thanks, Luca.

Edit: I already have a GPU, these are just the parts I want to upgrade.

There is no i7-4690k, it is either i5 4690K or i7 4790K. Those 2 CPU are Intel 4th gen or 4th gen plus and they use DDR3 memory with mobo LGA1150. If you want intel, then go for Intel 8th gen i5 8400 (6 cores) which will need Z370 mobo and DDR4 memory.

the first thing you need to do is choose a graphics card, because the Ryzen doesn't have on-board video. And that's going to determine whether you need a new PSU.

If you go with Intel, I suggest you steer away from the lga1155 socket and go to an lga1151 and an i7-7xxx cpu. You'll pay more for the Intel then the Ryzen, but the Intel has a pretty good GPU built in to it so you won't have to buy a discreet graphics card right off the bat.

Sorry, I meant the i7 4790k.

I have a GPU, the CPU is just the part I am upgrading.
