GPU: rx 470 4gb
RAM: 8gb ddr3.

old cpu broke so im looking for a new one now, + motherboard. budget is about 450e. gonna use it for streaming+gaming mostly. was thinking about i7 8700K but not sure if GPU will be a bottleneck? would an i5 do the job just fine?

^ @ Dragos - the prices,are wrong,now,mate , the gskill is up to nearly $200.

With intel 2400 upwards is fine.

@troselj.365.namesix - just look around & find the cheapest 2400kHz or above ram you can find.the partpicker prices have gone,to **** now , they're,pretty much all, wrong.

Personally I'd go for Haswell, it's the cheaper but still relevant option. If you look at the official Tom's Hardware CPU benchmark thread my 4790K at 4.9GHz matches and outperforms a 7700K at 5Ghz. A higher tier i5 from Haswell or a low tier i7 from Haswell will give you better price/performance and allow you to maintaint he cheap RAM prices.

a 4x 4GB kit of G.Skill Ripjaws was $35 off Craigslist and even though my set is only 1333 non-XMP I got it to 1866MHz on my Z97 board.

My G.Skill Ares kit is like $150 right now, got mine clocked at 2400MHz CL9, which puts most DDR4 on blast.

For more budget oriented builds, Haswell is the sweet spot right now because everyone has upgraded to DDR4 and 6th/7th/8th gen systems and is selling their stuff.
