Hey everyone
So I'm having a bit of a dilemma going on
I've recently decided to upgrade my pc and also since I've gotten some extra money as well, but im having some trouble and what to upgrade to and if it'll even make a difference.
Let's start off at the beginning, The current PC I have goes as follows https://pcpartpicker.com/user/DragonSlayer783/saved/v29Zxr.

The problem I having is I don't know what CPU and motherboard to upgrade too I've been looking at the I5 9600k and also the I7 9700k and also the MSI - MPG Z390 GAMING PLUS ATX LGA1151 Motherboard as the main motherboard. I like both of them but don't know what's best for this value and which one to pick. So I'm asking for help if you can. Which one do I pick? Also if you know a better motherboard around the same price range would really help?

I'm using this PC right now for streaming and gaming mostly, but I do video editing on the side as well. And every other daily task like web browsing and school work.
What do you guys think I should pick and or what route should I take. Any help would be really appreciated

Thanks

PS. When I'm playing some games and streaming the CPU max's out that one problem I'm hoping to fix also planning to upgrade my ram don't know if I should add 2 more of the same ones or get new ones entirely. If you can also help with that much appreciated

Hi!

I'm actually having the same choice to go through, as I'm building a PC right now. This is what I've decided.

If you're gaming only = get the i5 9600K
If you're gaming and video editing, which you mentioned = get the i7 9700k

The i5 9600K has really good single thread performance based on benchmarks, which is great for games since modern games aren't enabling more than 3-4 cores... right now at a least.

The i7 9700K will net you the game performance in games (minor bump in performance 5-10 fps, on the best GPUs) ... But where the extra cores will come in handy is for your video editing performance and as well for your streaming.

My Recommendation for your use case would be the i7 9700K and if you have extra money the i9 9900K.

This is my new build I'm buying parts for now, if you'd like to look over. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/g4K3xG
