What cpu would you say is better?

Out of these two what cpu would you say is better?

Intel core i3-4030u

Amd A8 7100

These cpu's will be paired with 8gb of ram.

For just general use, watching videos online in HD, writing documents, skyping people with voice chat. All without stuttering or lagging

While the cpu will hava about the same performance, it depends on what you want to do with it, and paired with what GPU for games.

Since this is laptop, they won't be good for modern gaming, but for basic computer work, the amd should be faster, battery last longer

If you aren't gaming I don't think it really matters which you choose. Most of the items you list would run on pretty much anything, so if you are comparing two machines with those processors than look for other things like what features they have or cost.
